Zoom has resumed service following a multi-hour outage.

“Service has been restored following the earlier outage, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding,” Zoom stated in a post on X around 2 p.m. Pacific Time.

The disruption started around 11:40 a.m., according to The Verge, which cited data from Cisco’s ThousandEyes platform. During the outage, users took to social media to report login problems and “Unable to Connect” errors when trying to join meetings. Zoom’s website also went offline, along with its media inquiry inbox.

By noon, over 59,000 users had submitted complaints on the outage-tracking site DownDetector.com.

The exact cause of the issue remains unclear. The Verge suggested it could have been related to DNS problems, referencing a discussion thread on Reddit. When contacted for comment, a Zoom spokesperson directed TechCrunch to the earlier post on X.
